ABOUT US
Artli Ali

Having graduated from The Academy of Art in San Fransisco, with a BA in Graphic Design, Artli Ali started his career in 1987 as the Creative Art Director of a leading multinational tablewares manufacturer in Indonesia.

As Art Director he found most of his company’s needs revolved around packaging, brochures and calendars which all featured products photos. Stock photo suppliers did no justice to his highly imaginative concepts and layouts so he set to the task of learning the camera for himself, ensuring complete creative control. He quickly adapted to the ins and outs of day-to-day studio work as well as how to use his inherent creativity to rise to the challenge of the world of advertising.

Always staying on the edge of these fusion of technology and art he decided to open his own studio to explore his true potential. This spirit, mixed with plenty of hard work, has led him to become one of the most well known photographers in Indonesia, in just a few
short years.

His personal array of special effects are instantly recognizable giving him something artist and musicians continually strive for – a style of his own. Classical, yet hi tech.

Artli finds the elements of truly good photography almost everywhere; the fascinating interplay of light and shadow, the subtlety of texture, the muted hues in a background, a sudden splash of colour, the movement inherent in nature or even a person’s daily life can be both beautiful and exciting if looked at in the right way. It is the ability to capture these special images for everyone which attracted him to pursuing photography full time.

Through the technology of lighting effects, lenses, cameras and his very soul he hopes his images will outlive him and continue to affect people
